15TH EDITION OF HOTZONE.TV PARK OPENING 2019 – DAY BY DAY RECAP

Hotzone Opening celebrated its 15th anniversary last weekend. Riders from all across Europe gathered together to spend a few days riding and enjoying the park setup of Betterpark Hintertux. Visitors from everywhere could also test different boards from all the multiple brands that contributed to the event.

Thursday Oct. 3rd, 2019

The 15th edition of the Hotzone.tv Park Opening in Hintertux kicked off with some fresh snow which contributed to a perfect first day for riders, industry and many visitors. Betterpark Hintertux was in perfect shape for the start of the winter season and riders had fun all day long. Smiles all over the place and good fun.

Friday Oct. 4th, 2019

The anniversary edition of the Hotzone.tv Park Opening 2019 continued on Friday. Lots of action on the mountain with the Girls Shred including a yoga session hosted by Tini Gruber. Also the qualification for the Metal Battle Night Rail Contest hosted by SANE! Snowboarding went down with the following riders making it into tomorrow night’s event joining all invited riders: Alexander Klerud, Isar Oesterhus, Jack Errichiello, Ken Pöllu, Freddy Klatschow and Marina Alonso. The Werni Stock Invitational on the big jump was scheduled for that day had to be postponed to the following day. Due to bad conditions of visibility and/or wind, it had to be completely cancelled in the end.

It was also movie night with multiple international movies premiering at the cinema in Tux Center. Good movies and a few drinks lead to a good after-party with all the invited riders and rest of the visitors at Kleinne Tenne in Tux.

Saturday, Oct. 5th

The Hotzone.tv Park Opening continued on the weekend with a free demo up on Hintertux glacier. The premiere of the Metal Battle Night Rail Contest hosted by SANE! Snowboarding went down Saturday night and drew a lot of spectators to the valley station of Hintertuxer Gletscher besides the rain. An impressive setup and even more impressive riding from 30 riders from all over Europe got the crowd excited all evening long. Congrats to Metal Battle winners: Oskar Fritzsche, Leon Gütl, Marvin Salmina, Marina Alonso and Silvia Mittermüller . The anniversary celebration then moved inside to Hohenhaus Tenne for the big «Birthday Bash party».

Sunday, Oct. 6th

The final day of the Park Opening kicked off with the Pleasure Kids Shoot and continued with the Hangover Session hosted by SANE!, a fun jib session to earn pocket money with creative tricks. Unfortunately, The Werni Stock Invitational had to be cancelled as conditions on the mountain didn’t allow a safe session due to flat light and wind.
