Jib into the 2024/25 Winter Season in Absolut Park
Kick off at Absolut Park with the WSPL Elite Contest from December 14 to 15, 2024!
The world-renowned freestyle snowboard training facility is celebrating its
25th anniversary and is kicking off its jubilee season.
Since last Saturday, the lifts have been running, and snowboarders and freeskiers alike can take their runs through Absolut Park. With the Jib King taking place next weekend, Shuttleberg in Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl is launching the contest season before the Christmas holidays. The first of many events at Absolut Park invites participants of all ages and skill levels from snowboarding to show off their skills.
The Jib King is held as the highest-paying WSPL Elite Event, which means that all participants earn points for the new "Rails" ranking in the World Snowboard Points List. The WSPL ranking consolidates all results from qualified FIS and WSF events into the ultimate snowboarding world ranking.
Saturday, December 14, 2024, is dedicated to the youth and amateur riders. In the legendary Jib Park, the lowest section of Absolut Park, a versatile line of boxes, rails, and small jumps awaits riders to express their creativity.
The next day, pros will compete at the Absolut Park Stair Set, a feature with 19 steps and four different rails to overcome before safely landing back in the snow. Riders from numerous nations and continents participate each year. Last year, Austria's new Jib Queen, Selin Lakatha from Styria, made a sensational impact in the strong field of female snowboarders. The 18-year-old is currently ranked 3rd in the WSPL Female Rail World Ranking.
The Jib King marks the start of a whole series of contests and events planned at Absolut Park this season:
January to March 2025: The Absolut Park Sunday Laps Women Sessions will take place once a
month.
March 8–15, 2025: The Spring Battle at Absolut Park is Europe’s longest-standing independent
elite snowboard competition, bringing the world’s best snowboarders together.
April 5, 2025: The ZSAEP Experience, a rookie event in the Jib Park, will be held for freeskiers
and snowboarders for the first time this season.
In addition, there will be numerous test events, team weeks, and product demos throughout the
season. For more information, visit: www.absolutpark.com and the Absolut Park social channels.
