WKND 3.0 – RECAP
WKND 3.0, the two-day event organised at Skidome Terneuzen, South of the Flat Lands, was a total success once again.
Young riders showed how fast the sport is progressing with stylish tricks like this method! By: @jaschaphoto
After the success of last year’s edition of WKND, the Dutch crew has done it again, bigger and better than last time: more sponsors, more Cash for tricks, live music, more goodies for all the participants, and loads of prizes.
Parallel to the snowboarding event, we also had a skateboarding session thanks to the Blue Tomato Rebuild the City tour with goodies and prizes.
To spice things up and call the attention of the best riders out there, WKND 3.0 was the first event of the year that gave away a Rock A Rail Wildcard. Some of the best jibbers coming from all across the country and even further, like the Slovakian, Zoltan Strcula, showed their best moves to have a chance and earn their spot at Rock A Rail 2019. Bart Falhaber was the lucky rider that walked away home as the King of WKND thanks to his wide variety of tricks on both, rails and jumps, and his consistency over the whole weekend.

The best unsponsored rider of the weekend could win a Sponsorship deal by Deeluxe Boots. A Prize that the dutch young gun Mees Oostdijk won thanks to his trick choice, big bag of tricks and style on the rails. This up-and-coming rider has had a super successful season in Laax, being one of the lucky riders showcased in the Crap Show series, and returning to the mother land only to take over the dome and earn a well-deserved prize.
Loads of other kind of prizes were given away to the most stylish woman and man (both days), the best crash (or maybe the most painful), the best eurocarve, the best trick, the best rookie, the most hyped beginner, etc.
The summery temperatures that hit the region during the weekend, made of Skidome Terneuzen the best place to hide from the heat and enjoy a mini-winter while shredding with friends. Good tricks, painful slams and great vibes is what we lived at WKND 3.0!
